Bio
Yashas Hariprasad is a Ph.D. candidate and Graduate Researcher at the U.S. Army-funded FINDS Center of Excellence at Florida International University, where he conducts advanced research in AI, cybersecurity, and digital forensics under the mentorship of Dr. S. S. Iyengar. His work focuses on developing AI-based algorithms for deepfake detection and quantum encryption frameworks for secure video transmission, addressing critical challenges posed by emerging cybersecurity threats.
He has authored and co-authored 2 books and over 12 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in prominent publications like IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, Elsevier, and Springer Nature, contributing novel research that pushes the boundaries of digital media protection and data security. His forthcoming book in Springer Nature, Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Theory and Applications for Cyber Security and Forensics, further exemplifies his dedication to advancing the field.

Beyond research, Yashas has held multiple leadership roles, including founding vice president of the Artificial Intelligence and Coding Club and president of the Indian Student Association at FIU, where he championed diversity and inclusivity. He has also mentored undergraduate and high school students through annual workshops and conferences, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Recognized for his impactful contributions, he received the prestigious Medal of Appreciation from the Commander of the U.S. DoD. Defense Information Systems Agency, FIU Outstanding Scholar Award, and the FIU Best Graduate Student Award. His excellence in both research and teaching underscores his potential to inspire future scholars and contribute meaningfully to academia.
